An avalanche increase in the influenza and the nightmare of patients, because they have nothing to treat. We talked about the crisis situation in pharmacies in TVN's “Facts” on Saturday. There is also a lack of flu drugs in wholesalers. There is a reaction of the health department. The first intervention delivery on Friday.
Bartosz Petrykowski, pharmacist, head of the Gdańsk pharmacy, unsuccessfully once again tried to order flu medicines. They have not been for many days. – As you can see here, these drugs are missing, we are waiting for accessibility in wholesalers, but we have no specifics yet – he admitted.
Patients ask about drugs not only in Gdańsk, but also in other cities, as in Bialystok.
– There is also a lack of flu in our province. None of the manufacturers currently guarantees the availability of the drug – notes Monika Kulik, a pharmacist from the pharmacy under the Gryf in Bialystok.
That is why people with influenza in desperation drive around the country, buying anti -dysenic drugs where they can.
– Recently, we had a patient who was going for a medicine to Częstochowa. She managed to buy for the whole family – says Dawid Kacprzyk, doctor, deputy head of the hospital emergency department of the Warsaw Southern Hospital.

There are drugs in Krakow all the time. – Today we had a question from Lower Silesia and it seems to me that in that region there may really be a problem with buying a drug – comments Agnieszka Dyl, a pharmacist from the Oliwna pharmacy in Krakow.
The problem is the low vaccination of Poles for flu
This crisis may end at the end of the week. Manufacturers promised to deliver 180,000 new packaging on Friday, and until next Wednesday several hundred thousand. In addition, the Ministry of Health organizes the so -called intervention import.
– We have already issued several consents for pharmaceutical wholesalers as part of intervention import, which allows you to bring Oseltamivir in packaging with foreign -language inscriptions – says Jakub Gołąb, spokesman for the Ministry of Health.
The drug was missing, which we have already informed on Saturday, because in January this year Polish pharmacies sold a lot of packaging of this preparation: up to 300 percent more than in January last year.

Lack of drug is a direct threat to the health and life of many patients.
– This is problematic, because Oseltamivir turned on in the first two days after the infection and the first symptoms of influenza actually reduce the number of virus particles and an easier course of this disease in patients, especially those who have various complications that can even be mortal for them – he indicates Dawid Kacprzyk.
Drugs for flu is a necessity especially for patients suffering from cardiovascular disease and respiratory diseases, including bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive lung disease.
For people with these diseases, this is the last bell to get vaccinated.
– Poland has a special problem, because we have vaccination for flu at a very low level, it is about five to six percent – notes Jakub Gołąb.
Whoever does not vaccinate with a reimbursed vaccine, then he has to look for medicines throughout the country and pay for them.
