The head of the Chancellery of the Sejm, Agnieszka Kaczmarska, resigned. The information was confirmed in “Kropka nad i” by the Speaker of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia. Jacek Cichocki was Szymon Hołownia’s chief of staff elections presidential elections in 2020. In 2008-15 he worked in governments Donald Tusk and Ewa Kopacz. Until 2011, he was a minister in the prime minister’s office and secretary of the College for Secret Services. Then he became Minister of Internal Affairs and at the same time coordinated the secret services. From 2013, he was the head of the prime minister’s office, chairman of the Standing Committee of the Council of Ministers and head of the team for programming the government’s work. Before taking up ministerial positions, from the first half of the 1990s he worked at the Center for Eastern Studies in Warsaw, in 2001 he became deputy director, and in 2004-07 he was the director of the Center.

Kaczmarska as head of the Chancellery of the Sejm
Agnieszka Kaczmarska became the head of the Chancellery of the Sejm in 2016. In 2019, it came under criticism due to the Sejm Information Center denying that family members of the then Speaker of the House, Marek Kuchciński, flew without him on board government planes intended for him. In the same year, Kuchciński resigned due to the scandal, and Kaczmarska placed herself at the disposal of his successor Elżbieta Witek. She retained her position.

In January 2020, the judge Paweł Juszczyszyn The District Court in Olsztyn imposed two fines of PLN 3,000 each on Kaczmarska. One of them concerned the fact that Kaczmarska did not comply with the court’s decision and did not disclose lists of support for the neo-National Council of the Judiciary. He imposed a second fine on her for preventing him from inspecting these documents at the Chancellery of the Sejm, arguing that Juszczyszyn’s delegation to Warsaw had been withdrawn.
Judge Juszczyszyn was suspended from adjudicating on February 4 of the same year; 10 days later, the Sejm revealed letters of support for the neo-National Council of the Judiciary. The Head of the Chancellery of the Sejm appealed against the decision to impose both fines on her. The court subsequently overturned the decision to impose them.
