Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, said that the government will allocate PLN 2 billion to fight hybrid attacks, which is intended to strengthen the safety of soldiers in actions against sabotage actions, including attacks in cyberspace. He also said that Poland, together with Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, would create a Baltic line. – This will be the largest operation in history to strengthen our security on the eastern border – he added.

In Limanowa (Lesser Poland Voivodeship), during the celebration of the 11th Małopolska Territorial Defense Brigade, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense spoke, among other things, about additional funds allocated to combat hybrid attacks.

– The two billion zlotys that we are allocating for this purpose are to strengthen the security of Polish Army soldiers in activities carried out against sabotage actions against the Polish state, including attacks in cyberspace – said the Minister of National Defense.

The Deputy Prime Minister also said that the government will “strengthen the eastern border of the Republic of Poland.” – We started implementing the biggest idea, the biggest operation – “Shield East”. There have been no such fortifications on any of the borders of the Republic of Poland since 1945, he added. This is a system of fortifications on the eastern border, including fortifications.

Kosiniak-Kamysz announced that Poland, together with Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, will create a Baltic Sea line. – This will be the largest operation in history to strengthen our security on the eastern border. These will be fortifications, but above all, state-of-the-art equipment. We are establishing drone troops (…) Both air, ground, sea and underwater – he added.

Thanks to the soldiers

In his speech, the head of the Ministry of National Defense thanked the soldiers who took the solemn oath on Saturday. – I want to thank you very much for serving the Polish state, for joining the armed forces of the Republic of Poland, for your unwavering willingness to provide support and help, risking your health and sometimes sacrificing your life – he told them.

Later in the speech, Kosiniak-Kamysz recalled the patron of the 11th Małopolska Territorial Defense Brigade, General Leopold Okulicki alias. “Niedźwiadek”, the last commander of the Home Army, treacherously arrested and tried in Moscow in the “Trial 16”.

Finally, the Deputy Prime Minister appealed for balanced political statements, at the current time of threat to the country, when sabotage and cyberspace attacks are taking place against Poland.
