The heat in Poland will return on Friday. IMWM warns eight voivodeships

It will be hot again in Poland on Friday. The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management announced warnings in eight voivodeships in the south-west and south of the country.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued level 1 warnings.

IMWM warnings – heat

The lowest level warnings due to heat apply to the following voivodeships:

  • Lubuskie;
  • Greater Polandpoviats: Międzychód, Nowy Tomyśl, Wolsztyński, Grodzisk, Leszno, LesznoKościan, Gostyński, Rawicz, Krotoszyński, Ostrowski, Kalisz, Ostrzeszów, Kępiński;
  • Łódźcounties: Sieradz, Wieruszów, Wieluń, Zduńsko Wola, Łaski, Pajęczno, Bełchatów, Radomsko;
  • Lower Silesiaoutside the following poviats: Karkonosze, Jelenia GóraWałbrzych, Kłodzko;
  • Opole Province;
  • Silesianoutside the following counties: Cieszyn, Bielsko, Bielsko-BialaŻywiec;
  • Lesser Polandoutside the following counties: Nowy Targ, Tatra, Gorlice;
  • Świętokrzyskiecounties: Włoszczowa, Jędrzejowski, Pińczów, Kazimierz, Busko.

The maximum temperature during the day will be between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius.

The warnings will be valid from 12-8:30 p.m. on Friday.

What is the IMWM first degree meteorological warning?

The first level warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and pose a threat to health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from carrying out activities in the hazardous area, including delays caused by traffic disruptions, disruptions to outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and developments in the weather situation.
