Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) have issued second-degree meteorological warnings on a three-point, ascending scale.
IMWM warnings of the second degree – heat
Orange alerts apply in the following provinces:
- West Pomeranian, with the exception of the Sławno district;
- Pomeranianin the counties of Bytów, Chojnice, Człuchów;
- Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeshipfor the following counties: Tuchola, Sępolno, Bydgoszcz, BydgoszczNakło, Żnin, Inowrocław, Mogilno;
- lubuskie;
- Greater Poland;
- Lower Silesianwith the exception of the following counties: Kłodzko, Wałbrzych, WalbrzychKamienna Góra, Karkonosze, Jelenia GoraLubań and Lwówek;
- Opole;
- Silesianin the districts of Tarnowskie Góry and Gliwice, Gliwice, Zabrze, Bytom, Chorzow, Katowice, TychyPszczyna, Jastrzębie-Zdrój, Wodzisław, Racibórz, Rybnik, Rybnik, Mikołów.
Maximum temperatures will be between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius. Warnings will be valid until 7 p.m. Monday.
First degree IMWM warnings – heat
First degree warnings were issued for the following provinces:
- Pomeranianoutside the following counties: Słupsk, Lębork, Wejherowo, Puck, Gdynia, Sopot, Gdańsk;
- Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship;
- Warmia-Masuria;
- Podlaskie;
- Masovian;
- Lublin;
- Świętokrzyskie;
- Lublin;
- Świętokrzyskiewith the exception of Żywiec County and those covered by higher level warnings;
- Lesser Polandoutside the following counties: Sucha, Nowy Targ, Tatra, Myślenice, Limanowa, Nowy Sącz, Nowy SączGorlice;
- Subcarpathianexcept for the following counties: Jasło, Krosno, Krosno, Sanok, Lesko, Bieszczady.
In these places, thermometers will show 29 to 32 degrees Celsius during the day, and the minimum temperature at night will reach 15 to 17 degrees Celsius. The warnings will be valid until 7 p.m. on Monday.
