For BiliĆski, the current season is a debut at the level of Formula 3. The Pole is racing for the Rodin Motorsport team, which after three races (and sprints), as well as a sprint in Monaco he was fourth in the classification of constructors. Our representative showed his great talent at the first opportunity, when he finished third in Australia. Since then, he has scored three more times, and in general in the classification of drivers before Sunday's prosecution in Monaco he took 10th place.
Not as terrible monaco as they paint them
The legendary monakian track has its own specifics. This is a narrow, street track, not easy especially for debutants. However, BiliĆski felt great from the beginning. Still in Saturday's sprint he took 11th place, but in qualifying for the main race he did phenomenally. In his qualifying group he was the best (qualifications in F3 are divided into two groups), and generally only succumbed to Bulgarian Nikola TsoĆow, being one step away from the sensational pole position.
It gave hope that a Pole could beat the third place from a sprint from Australia and establish a new life, and who knows, he can even fight for victory. Ultimately, it turned out that the triumph was out of reach. BiliĆski rode perfectly, but there was a bit of pace to threaten TsoĆow. In addition, the Pole was still threatened by the Spaniard Mari Boy from Campos Racing. Our countryman, however, did not crack and effectively guarded his position.
BiliĆski did not break under pressure. A great defense gave a great result!
BiliĆski and Boya were less than a second almost all the time, and a friend of the Pole from Rodin, Callum Voisin, was not far from the fourth position. Overtaking in Monaco is not the easiest one, but you also need to be able to use this advantage, and BiliĆski did it! The Pole traveled the entire race in second position and also fell to the finish line. Boya had to settle for the third place.
TsoĆow was out of reach, but our representative showed a great defensive ride. This is by far the best result in his career, because not only that the second place is also in the race, not in the sprint, but it's more difficult. BiliĆski gained 18 points to the general classification of drivers, thanks to which he was promoted to a great seventh place in it.
On May 25, he becomes a historic day in the calendar for the Polish racing. Exactly on May 25, 2008, seventeen years ago, Robert Kubica, then in the colors of BMW Sauber, stood on the podium of the Formula 1 race. Where? In Monaco. Which place did he take? The second (only Lewis Hamilton was better).
