If the law on the judiciary were blocked, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki could continue to say that he had everything ready to unlock funds from the KPO, but unfortunately the total opposition blocked the money for Poland. We say check. We will fix the judiciary after winning the elections, Borys Budka, head of the Civic Coalition club, told “Fakty po Faktach”.

Parliament passed on Friday the PiS project assuming changes in the judiciary. According to the authors, this amendment is to be a key step in unlocking EU funds from the National Reconstruction Plan for Poland. United Right shared about him. Some members of the PiS club – including those from Solidarna Polska – voted against.

Members of the Civic Coalition and the Left (in the vast majority) and KP-PSL (all) abstained from voting, thus opening the way for potential funds for Poland.

Budka: we did everything to unlock money for Poland

The head of the KO club asked in “Fakty po Faktach” whether the act in this shape is enough to the European Commission considered that the milestone has been reached, he said that “today’s announcement from the EC immediately after the adoption of the law was clear that the law is going in the right direction”. However, he noted that she “does not fix the justice system”.

– But there is a basic thing. Today we did everything to unlock money for Poland that was blocked by the government – he said Boris Budka.

In his opinion, the amendments proposed by the opposition in the Sejm and which, as he announced, will be repeated in the Senate, “are fundamental and only they guarantee at least a partial repair of what has been spoiled by the camp of the so-called United Right.”

Asked if the law would not suffice without amendments, he replied: – we will wait for what the European Commission will say.

– Today we are dealing with the fact that the opposition had to say: I am checking – whether Prime Minister Morawiecki is lying to everyone, from the president, his ministers to the public, that he has agreed with the European Commission, or whether he is telling the truth – said Budka.

– If the law were blocked today, Prime Minister Morawiecki could continue to say that he had everything ready to be unlocked, but unfortunately the total opposition blocked the money for Poland. We say check. We will fix the justice system after we win the elections, he added.
