For Domen Prevc, like for many Slovenian ski jumpers, this season started very disappointingly. The youngest of the Prevc brothers and the only one still jumping, he scored only once in six competitions so far, taking 15th place in the first competition in Ruka. Besides, he was either eliminated in the first round seriesor he didn't manage to pass the qualifications at all. And before the second competition in Lillehammer they disqualified him in them.
Prevc rode with hope. He ended up bruised
The Slovenian is desperately looking for form, and he went to Titisee-Neustadt with the hope that something would finally take off. This is also one of the largest large hills in the World Cup series, which could have given him hope, because for Domen the bigger the facility, the better. He qualified for Saturday's competition, although without great results (31st place). However, everything went wrong in him.
Prevc made a solid jump of 129.5 meters, which could have given him further points. Unfortunately, he made a clear mistake when landing, as his left ski it collided with the right one and the Slovenian was unable to control it, which resulted in an unpleasant-looking fall, including a fall on his face. His goggles slipped dangerously off his face. Fortunately, Prevc got up quickly and left the landing zone on his own a moment later. However, it was not certain about his performance on Sunday, as often under the influence of adrenaline, a jumper may initially not feel injured.
Robert Hrgota reassures fans
More detailed news on topic Domena's health was provided by his coach Robert Hrgota. In a statement to the Slovenian Ski Association (SloSki), the coach assured that despite the blood that appeared on Prevc's face, the jumper was fine and his Sunday performance was not in danger. – Domen is fine, it was a harmless attack. It will be fine on Sunday. Nothing terrible happened, Hrgota said.
The competition on Sunday, December 15 in Titisee-Neustadt will begin with qualifications for the individual competition at 2:30 p.m. The competition itself is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
