SpaceX will take another Starship attempt as part of the eighth test flight. The machine was planned to rise into the air on Monday, but during the countdown, scientists detected an indefinite problem with the rocket system core. A chance to launch the largest rocket in the world will appear from Thursday to Friday at night.

Spacex has notified on its website about the new date of the eighth test flight Starship on its website. The announcement reads that the starting window will open on Thursday at 17.30 (in Poland it will be 0.30 on Friday). At the same time, it was emphasized that the schedule may change.

Originally, the eighth test flight of the world's largest rocket was to take place last Monday. However, the attempt was interrupted 40 seconds before the Starship was fired. Representatives of the American company then informed about the detection of an unspecified problem with the rocket system core. The test was to be the first start of the Starship rocket since the January mission, which ended in a failure after just eight minutes of flight. Then the upper part of the rocket exploded over the Caribbean, causing the rain of fiery shards over Turks and Caicos. After this incident, a federal investigation began.

Unchanged plan

As part of the latest flight, the rocket is to travel the same route as during previous attempts and achieve goals not filled during the seventh attempt. These are, among others, multiple experiments of re -entering the atmosphere, aimed at returning the upper degree to the starting site to catch. Scientists also assume a return to the first degree rocket – Super Heavy. For the needs of the eighth test flight, SpaceX introduced several improvements in the upper level of a spacecraft, increasing its reliability and performance.

Starship is 123 meters high. Ultimately, it is designed so that it can be used more than just once. This is a key element of the SpaceX vision and its owner Elon Musk in the conquest plans space. However, before these ambitious goals are achieved, the company must prove that the rocket is suitable for flight and is safe for manned missions.
