The first debate in the American presidential campaign changed everything, the second one may also be decisive, but this time for the Republican candidate. Donald Trump has arranged a debate with Joe Biden on September 10 on ABC television, but he does not want to meet with Kamala Harris on this neutral ground. He changes the date and wants to change the place – to the Fox News television station, which has always been his favorite.
It is and will be a fight for every vote, because Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are neck and neck. According to the average of the last four national polls for CNN, the former president has 49 percent support, and the current vice president – 47 percent. On August 2, it became clear that she would be the Democratic candidate.
“I am proud to confirm that Vice President Harris has won the Democratic delegate votes she needs,” said Democratic National Committee Chairman Jaimie Harrison.
Her formal nomination will be finalized by August 7, when the party convention will be held in Chicago. Republicans have already done that, but Trump's team is not slowing down. The Republican candidate, who wants to return to the White House, is not stopping his attacks. Days after he questioned Kamala Harris' father's Jamaican descent, he has now launched another personal attack at a meeting with his supporters in Atlanta.
– She really does have a very low IQ. We don't need a low IQ – said former president and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
On the same stage, congratulations were also given to Vladimir Putin in the context of the historic prisoner exchange that took place on August 1 in Ankara. Trump stated that the Kremlin had outsmarted the US government. “I would like to congratulate Vladimir Putin on another great deal,” commented Donald Trump. “We are making terrible, terrible deals. It's nice to say that we got the hostages back, but doesn't this set a bad precedent?” he asked.
In his speech to his supporters, he also warned of an influx of illegal immigrants. “If Harris wins, our communities will be flooded with an endless stream of illegal migrants, rapists, sexual predators. If I win, on day one we will begin the largest deportation operation in American history,” Trump said.
“Republicans for Harris”
The increasingly harsh language may put some people off. Democrats are counting on this and reaching out to voters of their rivals. The campaign under the slogan “Republicans for Harris”, which the AP writes about, is intended to reach those who previously supported Nikki Haley – the Republican competing with Trump for the presidential nomination in the primaries. “Trump's extremism is toxic to millions of Republicans who no longer believe that the party with Trump at its head represents their values,” Austin Weatherford, national director of Republican campaigning for Harris, told the AP.

Harris and Trump were supposed to debate on ABC News on September 10. The date was agreed upon when Joe Biden was the Democratic presidential candidate. Now, the former president has backtracked on that arrangement and has written on his social media platform “Truth Social” that he wants to meet with the Democratic candidate, but on Fox News on September 4.
“I'll see her on September 4th or I won't see her at all. She is considered the worst vice president in history, which played perfectly with the worst president, the corrupt Joe Biden. The combination of these two low IQ individuals destroyed our country, but we will make America great again,” we read in his post on the “Truth Social” platform.
This weekend, a British tabloid published details about the second gentleman's personal life. The Daily Mail reported that Doug Emhoff, Harris' husband, had an affair with his then-teenage daughter's teacher during his first marriage, leading to the family's breakup.
– Vice President Kamala Harris' husband, Doug Emhoff, admitted to CNN that he had an affair during his first marriage. In a statement to CNN, he said, “During my first marriage, Kirsten and I went through some tough times because of my actions. I took responsibility, and while we've been through some things as a family over the years, we've ultimately come out stronger,” CNN journalist Priscilla Alvarez said.
Emhoff has two adult children from a previous marriage, both of whom were present on Capitol Hill for Kamala Harris’ inauguration as vice president.
