At the same time, if the total price index of consumer goods and services forecast for the next year is at least 105%. (i.e. if the expected inflation is at least 5 percent) – two dates for changing the amount of the minimum wage and the amount of the minimum hourly rate are set: from January 1 and from July 1.

The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy is currently working on Poland's implementation of the EU directive on adequate minimum wages in the European Union. “Under the directive, Member States are obliged to assess the adequacy of the minimum wage. For this purpose, they must choose one or more 'indicative reference values'. For example, it may be, for example, 60 percent. median wages, 50 percent average salary (at the international or national level),” the ministry indicated.

The draft law implementing the directive will specify the reference value that should be achieved in the long run and to which the minimum wage will be compared. The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy is inclined to set the indicative reference value at 60%. average salary,” the ministry informed.

This caused controversy among economists. “So entrepreneurs must fasten their seat belts,” commented SÅ‚awomir Dudek, president and founder of the Institute of Public Finance.
