The ruling Little Military Junta, whose leader is General Assimi Goit, proposed that he be appointed president for a renewable five -year term – according to the prime minister's office document published on Tuesday.
According to the Reuters agency, the military junta commissioned the solution to all political parties and tightening the conditions for their creation. In addition, the Mali government recommended the suspension of all electoral rights until – as specified – calming the situation in the country.

Another Sahel country that broke the promise
Mali is another after Burkina Faso i Niger Sahel's country, whose government broke the promise of democratic elections in 2024 after taking over the power.
