Another Sahel country that broke the promise

Mali is another after Burkina Faso i Niger Sahel's country, whose government broke the promise of democratic elections in 2024 after taking over the power. Burkina Faso was to be carried out in July, and Mali in March last year. In the neighboring Niger, Junta also announced that she would remain in power for five years.

Temporary President Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, announced last week that he would exercise power himself until at least 2029. Earlier, he also argued that there was no democratic country in the world, which could be eliminated by poverty and economic problems.

Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger broke their relationship with their longtime Western partners, especially with Francethey left the Regional Community of West Africa and formed the Alliance of the Sahel States (AES).
