The Ministry of Justice, in order to increase the effectiveness of the fight against crime on Polish roads, announces intensive work on changes to the law. Among the solutions is to introduce road murder to the list of crimes.

Ministry of Justice informs that in the coming days, intensive work will be carried out on legal solutions aimed at ensuring the highest possible effectiveness of the state in the fight against crime on Polish roads. The work will be carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration” – the Ministry of Justice informed on platform X.

The Ministry informed that the work will include analysis of, among others, the postulates for changes in regulations appearing in the public space, such as: introduction to the catalogue of road murder offencescreation Identification system on the roads of people with driving bans or forfeiture of vehicle driven by a person banned from driving it.

Announcement of analysis after the tragic accident on Trasa Łazienkowska

The Ministry indicated that “the circumstances will also be the subject of a particularly thorough analysis the accident involving Łukasz Ż., who was arrested yesterday.including the effectiveness of the driving bans imposed on him.”

The case concerns an accident that occurred a week ago on Trasa Łazienkowska near Torwar. A Volkswagen, driven by Łukasz Ż. according to the prosecutor's office, hit a Ford that was driving correctly in the middle lane at high speed. As a result of the accident, a 37-year-old man, who was driving the car with his wife and two children, died. The rest of the family was taken to hospital, the woman is in serious condition.
