On Wednesday, Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak approved the contract for the delivery of the Ottokar Brzoza tank destroyers for the Polish Army. The head of the Ministry of National Defense announced that the first prototypes will be ready next year.

After approving the contract Mariusz Błaszczak emphasized that the delivery of tank destroyers is a very important project, the implementation of which will significantly strengthen the Polish Armed Forces.

He announced that the first prototypes of tank destroyers will be ready next year and will go to the 14th Anti-Tank Regiment based in Suwałki in the area of the Suwałki Gap.

– Our assumption is to saturate the Polish Army with such units. There will be anti-tank regiments in each division (…) It is our intention for the first batteries to be operational within the next three years. I think that this deadline can be achieved in a shorter period of time. I think that in two years we will be operational in the case of the anti-tank regiment in Suwałki, said the head of the Ministry of National Defense.
