Ministry of National Defense submitted “draft regulation of the Council of Ministers on determining the number of people who may be called up for active military service in 2025 and the number of people who may perform military service in the reserve as part of military exercises.” The regulation thus revealed the established personal limits for appointments that apply to various forms of active military service. The Ministry of National Defense assumes that the total financial outlays for the implementation of the project will reach up to PLN 8.15 billion.
The Ministry of National Defense revealed the exact numbers. This concerns military conscription in 2025
According to the project, next year up to 16,000 will be drafted into professional military service. people. Moving on to military exercises – these will involve up to 200,000. reserve soldiers (including for training as part of courses for non-commissioned officers and reserve officers). Then, as part of the active reserve – it will be up to PLN 30,000. reserve soldiers, and in the case of voluntary compulsory military service – to almost 40 thousand. people (including up to 4.7 thousand people undergoing education). The last form – territorial military service – will cover up to 44,000. reserve soldiers and people who have a regulated relationship with military service.
Importantly, the regulation also states that the values mentioned constitute an “upper, insurmountable limit and do not mean an absolute necessity to implement the submitted proposals”.
Who do the vocations apply to? This is determined by established law
Recall that based on Acts on the Defense of the Homeland, the obligation to participate in training is imposed on passive reserve soldiers – i.e. people who are reservists but have not taken the military oath and who have taken the oath but are not interested in service. Interestingly, the age of conscripts is also regulated – privates can be called up to the age of 60 for exercises, while non-commissioned officers and officers can be called up to the age of 63. We wrote more about this in the article: “200 thousand Poles may be sent to military exercises. Summons are sent even to people in their 60s“.
