One of the internet users sent a recording to Kontakt24, showing the moment of the explosion in a tenement house in Poznań from the courtyard. It shows powerful explosions and a wall of fire. A moment later, people with flashlights appear nearby. Alarms went off in nearby cars and buildings. The recording – as the internet user informs us – was also given to the police.

The journalists of the program Uwaga! TVN reached an employee of the company located in a tenement house in Poznań, where an explosion and fire occurred, as a result of which two firefighters died. The man said that the company dealt in battery regeneration. – The customer brought an old battery and it had to be disassembled and new cells had to be installed – he said.

The man showed the journalist photos from his phone showing battery cells and described what happened during their replacement. – When you connect plus to plus, first the plates would heat up, and then there would be a fire. They would put it out by throwing it into the sand – he said. He added that the fire would appear two or three times a week. – With the time pressure that the boss imposed, it was easy to make a mistake – he said.

When asked if it could have happened that someone finished work that fateful evening, closed the company, went home and then something started happening in the rooms – he replied: – There is such an option, if one of the cells did not pair well with each other, there were short circuits. First there was sparking, then a flame appeared and because there was a wooden table there, it was easy for the fire to spread – he emphasized. According to the man, this type of work should not be done in a building where people live. – You should rent a separate free-standing storage unit, not in the basement – the man concluded.
