President Andrzej Duda is known for his misogyny, said Barbara Nowacka, Minister of Education, on TVN24. She commented on the president's decision to veto the amendment to the law on the morning-after pill. In her opinion, the president “used age as an excuse to attack women again.”

President Andrzej Duda vetoed the amendment to the so-called “morning after” pill. The change passed by parliament provided for access to tablets containing ulipristal acetate (EllaOne) for people over 15 years of age without the need to present a prescription.

Barbara Nowacka, Minister of Education, hosted the “Rozmowa Piaseckiego” program on TVN24 on Tuesday. – After all, we are talking about minors who, under Polish law, are old enough to be able to take care of a child. Girls can give birth to children in Poland and then they can take full care of the child, they can give medicines, she said.

She added that Duda “is known for his misogyny.” – I suspect that he considers women in general to be immature creatures, especially teenagers – said the minister.

She stated that the president “used age as an excuse to attack women again.” – Polish women won't fall for it either. He showed what the entire PiS camp looks like. Under the guise of hypocrisy, they are again attacking women and their safety, because the “morning after” pill provides a woman who is in a crisis or emergency situation with such a safety device, emphasized Nowacka.

Nowacka: Fortunately, we have Minister Leszczyna

Nowacka said that “fortunately, we have the Minister (of Health, Izabela) Leszczyna, who has a way to do it, and who – as far as I know – will present a regulation for consultation today that will help young girls in crisis on the basis of pharmaceutical law,” she said.

– I believe that a regulation is needed now. I believe that we also need a general reflection on why sixteen-year-old girls and sixteen-year-old boys must go to the doctor with their parents, if we admit that, for example, they have the right to give birth to a child – added the TVN24 guest.
