Let’s give the lady a chance. It was hard for me to find the right person. I believe that if she has been a journalist for many years and has some experience more in the written press, she will make it – this is how the head of this body, Dagmara Pawełczyk-Woicka, spoke about the new spokesperson of the new National Judiciary Council in “Kampania #BezKitu”. Until recently, the new spokeswoman for the National Council of the Judiciary was an active Twitter user, where she clearly revealed her political sympathies and antipathies many times.

European Court of Human Rights announced on Thursday judgment on two complaints filed by Judge Igor Tuleya. The decision stated that there had been a violation of three articles of the European Convention on Human Rights. In the case of Art. 6 § 1 (right to a fair trial) and art. 8 (right to respect for private life), a violation was found by 6-1 votes, and in the case of Art. 10 (freedom of expression), the decision was taken unanimously.

The judge is to receive 36,000 euros from Poland.

Dagmara Pawełczyk-Woicka, the head of the new National Council of the Judiciary, was asked about this sentence in the weekly program “Kampania #BezKitu” on TVN24. When asked if she felt joy when the ECtHR – through its verdict – sided with judicial independence, the judge replied: – I wouldn’t call it that way. Judicial independence is something completely different from the rulings of the European Court of Human Rights.

– Judge Tuleya, regardless of whether it was a legitimate suspension or not, because I will not comment on it, but when it comes to the pace of work, the judge contributed a bit to the length of this suspension – she stated.

When reminded that the judge declared that he was ready to return to work, the head of the National Court Register replied to those gathered in the studio: – He went, he declared to work, but each of you sitting here, the editor also, as if he got summons to the prosecutor’s office, you would appear. And Judge Tuleya refused to appear, she said.

“It was a very serious mistake. Let’s give it a chance”

Pawełczyk-Woicka in the program was also asked about the new KRS spokeswoman Ewa Łosińska. The former journalist previously had a Twitter account, where, among other things, she called Donald Tusk “the redhead is shushing” and claimed that Mateusz Morawiecki “breaks down the judiciary at the behest of the European Union.” However, the profile disappeared on Wednesday from social media.

Patryk Michalski, a journalist from Wirtualna Polska, wanted to interview the new spokeswoman. However, Łosińska did not want to answer any questions.

You see how unlucky I am. I hired a spokeswoman to explain for the members of the Council, and I am explaining myself. I approached Mr. Patryk Michalski and talked to him whether he was recording it or not. We live in such times that the spokeswoman began her career in completely different times – replied Pawełczyk-Woicka, addressing the host.

At the same time, she admitted that she “absolutely did not conduct any research on these views.” – Maybe it was necessary, but I did not expect such expressiveness – she said. “The ombudsman blocked the account,” she recalled.

The head of the National Court Register defended the new spokeswoman that she was not a judge but an “ordinary citizen” when expressing her views on Twitter.

– That’s why this account has been blocked. It was a very serious mistake, I admit. Let’s give it a chance. Let’s really give the spokeswoman a chance. It was hard for me to find the right person. I believe that if she has been a journalist for many years and has some experience, more in the written press, she will work out and be open to you and certainly will not run away from the camera. And he will not answer all questions, she assured.

“#BezKitu Campaign” is a weekly live program that summarizes the most important political and campaign events in Poland. Representatives of various groups, institutions and offices meet at a common table. They discuss the most important political, social and economic events. In addition to talking to politicians, the journalist will connect with young people from all over Poland. The host of the program is Radomir Wit.
