The decision of the National Electoral Commission, which accepted the financial report of the PiS committee from the parliamentary elections, is scandalous – said Włodzimierz Czarzasty, Deputy Speaker of the Sejm (Left Wing). In his opinion, “the money should not go to PiS's account.” Meanwhile, PiS MP Paweł Sałek expressed hope that Finance Minister Andrzej Domański “will fulfill the obligation imposed on him by the National Electoral Commission.”

National Electoral Commission On Monday, it adopted the financial report of the PiS committee from the 2023 parliamentary elections. The head of the National Electoral Commission, Sylwester Marciniak, said on Monday that four out of nine members of the National Electoral Commission voted for the adoption of such a resolution, three were against and two abstained. This was the result of a decision by the Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs of the Supreme Court, whose activities are questioned, among others, by European tribunals. This chamber accepted PiS's complaint about the earlier rejection of the report by the National Electoral Commission.

The adopted resolution of the National Electoral Commission indicated that it was adopted “only as a result of the complaint (PiS – ed.) being accepted by the Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs of the Supreme Court.” It was added that the resolution “is inherently and directly related to the judgment, which must come from a body that is a court within the meaning of the constitution and the Electoral Code.” “The National Electoral Commission does not determine that the IKNiSP Supreme Court is a court and does not determine the effectiveness of the judgment,” the resolution reads.

Czarzasty: The National Electoral Commission's decision is scandalous

The decision of the National Electoral Commission was commented on Tuesday at a press conference by the Deputy Speaker of the Sejm, co-chairman of the New Left. Włodzimierz Czarzasty. He called it “scandalous”. He addressed his words to those members of the National Electoral Commission who voted for the resolution and those who abstained from voting.

– You financed the campaign (Karol) Nawrocki (PiS candidate in the presidential elections – ed.). You funded the campaign and the functioning of the party that ruined the system of this country for eight years. This is your decision, he said.

– Fortunately, people are fallible, and fortunately, leaders should be very independent and very consistent in pursuing the truth – said Czarzasty.

He added that this is his understanding of the Prime Minister's message yesterday Donald Tusk. On Monday, the head of government wrote on social media: “'There is no money and there will be no money.' In my opinion, this is what follows from the resolution of the National Electoral Commission.” – People have the right to make mistakes, but leaders should be responsible for maintaining a reasonable, legal and consistent line. If I were Tusk, I would do the same – said the deputy marshal.

– I believe that the money should not go to PiS's account – he added.
