The deadline for paying out the undisputed part of the entity subsidy for the Law and Justice Election Committee in connection with the parliamentary elections in 2023 has been scheduled for Thursday, September 5, the Ministry of Finance announced. In the evening, this information was confirmed by PiS spokesman Rafał Bochenek, adding that “less than PLN 28 million” had been transferred to the account. A day earlier, party treasurer Henryk Kowalczyk informed that the undisputed amount was PLN 27.8 million.
National Electoral Commission August 29 rejected the financial report of the PiS electoral committee from the parliamentary elections in 2023. According to the report, the PiS committee received almost PLN 38.8 million and spent almost the entire amount. Meanwhile, the National Electoral Commission accused PiS of irregularities in financing the campaign in the amount of PLN 3.6 million.
As a result, the PiS subsidy was reduced by three times the amount in question, i.e. approximately PLN 10.8 million. The party was also deprived of part of the subsidy – in the amount of PLN 10.8 million. It may also be deprived of its entire subsidy for the next three years following the possible rejection of its annual financial report, but this has not yet been decided. A decision on this matter is expected in a few weeks.
However, the party may file a complaint to the Supreme Court against the National Electoral Commission’s decision of 29 August.
Almost 28 million of undisputed amount
PiS Treasurer Henryk Kowalczyk informed on Wednesday that the party is waiting for the payment Ministry of Finance undisputed part of the subsidy. He added that “this amount should be paid regardless of the possibility of filing a complaint to the Supreme Court.”
– The National Electoral Commission clearly indicates (in a letter to the Ministry of Finance – ed.) to pay the amount that is undisputed, i.e. PLN 27.8 million – he informed.

The Ministry of Finance announced that the National Electoral Commission sent a resolution to the ministry rejecting the financial report of the electoral committee Law and Justice from the elections to the Sejm of the Republic of Poland and the Senate of the Republic of Poland held on 15 October 2023.
The Ministry of Finance also reported that the National Electoral Commission also provided information “concerning the amounts of the entity subsidy due to eligible political parties and electoral committees of voters”. The Ministry of Finance then analysed the documents received and verified the correctness of the calculations of the subsidies due provided by the National Electoral Commission.

“Taking the above into account and taking into account the internal procedures of the office related to the circulation of documents, as well as the need to secure the necessary financial resources in advance for a specific day, we would like to inform you that the date of payment of the entity-specific subsidy in connection with the elections to the Sejm of the Republic of Poland and the Senate of the Republic of Poland held on October 15, 2023 for eligible entities has been scheduled for September 5, 2024,” the ministry said.
The Ministry of Finance launched payments for the remaining electoral committees on August 9. On July 31, the National Electoral Commission announced the acceptance of the financial reports of eight electoral committees, including: the Left, the Civic Coalition, Third Way and Confederation.
