The Babiogórski National Park issued an “appeal for the protection of trail poles” – elements that are crucial for safety tourists in winter. Poles, which often fall victim to hikers, were replenished on the trails only in mid-September.
The national park appealed to tourists. It's about trail poles
“The poles were embedded in stone mounds and additionally anchored with a transverse board. The force of the wind cannot knock them over, only the strength of human muscles. We once again ask you not to remove the poles from the stone mounds,” emphasized Babiogórski Park in fasting on Facebook. The problem is that it is tourists who destroy the poles.
“Winter is coming and the poles are the only marker of the trail, so for the sake of tourists and their safety, please leave them in the stone mounds. Let's respect the common space and take care of safety on the trails. What may be a minor obstacle for some, (for others – ed. .) can save lives in difficult winter conditions,” the release added.
Autumn weather will be perfect for going to the mountains
Even though the holidays are over, the mountains are still a popular weekend destination for Poles.
