If someone used state institutions, state instruments, someone manipulated – because that's clearly how it can be said – (…) they are responsible for it – said Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Marcin Wrona, a correspondent of “Fakty” TVN in Washington. He commented on Thursday's decision by the National Electoral Commission to reject the financial report of the PiS election committee.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense and leader PSL Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz is in Washington on Thursday, where he met with the US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
Later he spoke with Marcin Wrona, a correspondent of “Fakty” TVN. He was asked, among other things, about the decision of the National Electoral Commission, which rejected the PiS committee's election campaign report on Thursday. This involves monetary losses from grants and subsidies. This decision is not final. The party can appeal to the Supreme Court.
Kosiniak-Kamysz: there are no equals or more equals
As Kosiniak-Kamysz said, “no one is more equal than another”. – If someone used state institutions, state instruments, someone manipulated – because that's clearly what one can say – both in 2019 and 2023, they are responsible for that – he added.
In response to PiS politicians accusing the decision of destroying democracy or weakening the opposition before the presidential elections, the Minister of National Defense emphasized that when PSL suffered financially after the report was rejected, “no one cried then, no one said that this was the end of democracy, that this was the Belarusian standard, it went unnoticed.”
– So really, let them stop whining, let them stop despairing, let them get down to work – said Kosiniak-Kamysz.
