The young Poles made a strong start to the match with Bulgaria, but were unable to convert their advantage into goals. The Bulgarians scored a goal. They were leading 1-0 at half-time. Fortunately, the White and Reds pulled themselves together in the second half and scored three goals. The hero of the match was Kacper Kozłowski, who recorded two assists.
Poles win the Euro U-21 qualifiers. Will they advance directly to the final tournament?
The away win 3:1 against Bulgaria means that this team will not catch up with the White and Reds. The Poles have a better goal difference in direct matches, so even with the same number of points they would be better than the Bulgarians. In theory, the representatives of Kosovo could overtake them, but the White and Reds would have to lose the match to this team by at least four goals. In the first meeting they won 3:0.
Second place for the Polish team seems unthreatened. This means that the Poles' promotion to the play-offs is almost certain. The White and Reds still have a chance to even advance directly. This will certainly happen if they overtake the Germans and take first place – the chances for this are minimal, because the Germans would have to lose to Poland and Bulgaria – but it is also possible if they take second place.
The European Youth Championship will feature 16 national teams. 15 teams will advance to the tournament from the qualifying round. The nine teams in first place and the three best second-place teams will qualify immediately. The remaining six second-place teams will play in the play-offs.
The classification of the teams from second places does not take into account all matches. This is because two groups have one team less than the others. For this reason, the matches of the Poles with Estonia – the worst team in their group – do not count towards the ranking. After today's win against Bulgaria, the White and Reds are in 4th place in this table.

However, considering that the Poles still have a match against Germany ahead of them, we should probably accept the idea that they will have to fight in the play-offs to advance to the U-21 Euro.
This is what the Polish group looks like in the Euro U-21 qualifiers:
- Germany – 22 points – goal difference 30:6
- Poland – 18 points – 17:7
- Bulgaria – 12 points – 15:10
- Kosovo – 12 points – 9:10
- Israel – 3 points – 5:16
- Estonia – 1 point – 3:30
