A communication on this matter was sent to trade unions and the District Labor Office in Staszów. However, the application is incomplete, as the company did not specify how many people it plans to lay off. However, Siarkopol announced that it would complete the missing data.

– The company's management board informed us about its intention to carry out group layoffs, but not about their scale. However, it was already mentioned during the previous meetings that there would be a raise prices heat costs the company 207 employees. This does not mean, however, that that many people will lose their jobs.
According to Paweł Dendera, the president of Siarkopol, he suggested that people who acquired pension rights and decided to leave should be subtracted from the number of 207 employees mentioned. This group constitutes approximately 80-90 employees.
The company was making losses
“GW” reports that by the end of April 2025, employment in Siarkopol will be reduced by 20 percent. This means that every fifth of the over 700 employees will lose their job. That's more than 140 people.
Siarkopol has been reducing employment for a long time time. Dendera reminds that at the end of 2022, the company employed 871 people. Therefore, employment dropped by about 20 percent, which, as a trade unionist says, is the largest drop in employment in all Azoty group companies.
A spokeswoman for Grupa Azoty explains that in Siarkopol in recent years “employment has been increased without justification.” In 2016, the company employed 748 people, in 2018 there were over 800. Since then, this number has not decreased, reaching the highest level in 2022.
Group layoffs in Siarkopol are to be related to the growing numbers costs energy. The company began to make losses. In 2022, they recorded a net profit of PLN 20 million, and in 2023 they were already PLN 90 million in the red. The new authorities in Grupa Azoty informed that Siarkopol, left to them by their predecessors, is in a “disastrous situation”.
