The papal almoner, Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, reached Ukraine in a medical camper that will act as a mobile hospital. It will be possible to perform surgical procedures there, the Vatican News portal reported on Sunday.
The Polish cardinal also took him to Ukraine six ultrasound scanners that will go to destroyed hospitals.
Cardinal Krajewski went to Ukraine as the Pope's envoy for the ninth time since the beginning of Russian aggression in 2022.
He took the camper and medical equipment to Lviv.
As he said in an interview with Vatican News, he will go from there to Kiev and then continue his journey.
– The Holy Father wanted it to take place during Christmas – he added.
