In the last three years, one of the biggest competitors of Poczta Polska was the state-owned Orlen, said Sebastian Mikosz, acting president of Poczta Polska. As he added, during the Senate infrastructure committee, a proposal will be presented to combine similar business lines operated by Poczta Polska and Orlen.

– When it comes to the idea of transformation, (…) unfortunately, I cannot, as if with some surprise, not conclude that in the last three years one of the biggest competitors of Poczta Polska was the state-owned Orlen, which rapidly developed a network of parcel lockers, obviously having unlimited resources and in fact, it hits our distribution capacity harder than the largest competitor, but that is already a thing of the past – said Sebastian Mikosz, acting president of Poczta Polska.

As he added, “I will definitely suggest to the owner that we somehow combine these businesses.” – Because I do not (…) see any substantive justification for two state-owned entities, including one – let's call it subsidized – to compete with each other on a growing market – said Mikosz.
