– The Confederation does not propose the death penalty for abortion – assured Wojciech Machulski, a representative of this group, in “Tak jest” on TVN24. He referred to the words of the president of the youth wing of the Confederation of the Crown of Poland, who suggested that this should be the punishment for terminating a pregnancy. Marcin Kulasek, deputy minister of state assets from the Left, also talked about the possibilities of changing the abortion law.
Representatives of the youth wing of the Confederation of the Crown of Poland, Grzegorz Braun's party, organized a conference in the Sejm during which they spoke, among other things, about abortion. – As Korona Młodych, we have always been, are and will be against abortion – said Szymon Ponitka, spokesman for the youth organization. Its president, Erwin Trynkus, said that “murderers of unborn children must be held accountable.” – And the just punishment for killing another human being is the death penalty – he declared.
These words were referred to in the “Tak jest” program on TVN24 by Wojciech Machulski from Konfederacja and Marcin Kulasek from the Left, deputy minister of state assets.
“This is not the opinion of the Confederation”
Machulski stated that the Confederation does not have an official youth wing. – This is the youth team of Grzegorz Braun's formation – he argued. – Privately, this is not the opinion of all Confederate politicians, I am generally against the death penalty – he added.
Referring to Trynkus' words, he stated that “this is not the opinion of the Confederation.” – It is no surprise to anyone that we are defenders of life. This is a very delicate matter and we always emphasize this, which means that matters relating to termination of pregnancy and killing unborn children are very delicate matters, he said.
He also stated that Trynkus “acted under the influence of such emotions, his little experience and young age.” – Of course, the Confederation does not propose the death penalty for abortion – he assured.
Kulasek: The left has one position on abortion
Marcin Kulasek, speaking about proposals to change the abortion law, pointed out that the Left has “one position” on abortion. – Legal abortion up to the 12th week. Nothing changes here, he emphasized.
– Unfortunately, we have such a coalition arrangement that we have to work on a project that will clearly unite the coalition. Such a project seems to be the project of decriminalization and assistance with abortion, noted the representative of the Left.
