The Prime Minister announces a special allowance for social workers

Social workers will receive an allowance of PLN 1,000 gross, said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

– We also adopted the second project – said Tusk. He stated that “the case concerned basic justice” and also “personally” for him.

Prime Minister: it's very hard work

– In recent years, I have met employees and social workers in Polish local governments. There are almost 200,000 people, mainly women, usually with higher education. It's very hard work, sometimes humiliating, he said.

He pointed out that in many cases “they were in a more difficult situation than many people under the care of this social welfare.” – The overwhelming majority work for minimum wage and that is why I insisted on recommending the preparation of a solution. Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk got involved in this and thanks to that we have the law – he said. He stressed that the president still had to make an appropriate decision Andrzej Duda.

One thousand gross, even seven in hand

He said that social workers will receive an allowance. – In fact, it will be an increase of PLN 1,000 gross – he said.

Donald Tusk he mentioned that the raises will be given to, among others, employees of social welfare units, district Family Support Centers, Social Service Centers, Social Welfare Homes and homeless shelters.

– We are talking about an allowance of one thousand gross. This is “on your hands”, depending on the situation, of course, between PLN 600 and 700 per month – said the Prime Minister.
