Ignat Kuzin, detained by the Russian Federal Security Service in connection with the Friday assassination at General Jarosław Moskal, was accused of terrorism. Kuzin – as the Russian Investigative Committee said – “he described the chronology of his actions from the moment of starting preparations to the moment of committing a crime.” Moskalik died as a result of an explosion of a car planned in the car.

The Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) said that the 42-year-old Ignat Kuzin is a “agent of Ukrainian special services” detained in the case of the assassination of general Jarosław Moskalik. She said that the explosive, which he was supposed to put on, was detonated remotely with Ukraine.
According to Russian services, Kuzin bought a Volkswagen Golf car, in which he “installed a homemade explosive” and parked this vehicle near a building in the city of Bałaszycha near Moscow, where General Jarosław Moskalik, deputy head of the Central Operational Board of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia lived.
The explosion took place on Friday, when Moskalik left the staircase. The military died on the spot.
Accusation of terrorism
The Russian Investigative Committee announced on Sunday that Kuzin was charged with a terrorist act. As Russian investigators said, the man “pleaded guilty and stated that he was ready to confirm everything he said during the interrogation.”
According to the spokeswoman of the Svetlana Pietrienko Investigation Committee, Kuzin “described the chronology of his actions from the moment of starting preparations to the moment of committing a crime.”

The accused man was to confirm that he was recruited by employees of the Ukraine Security Service (SBU) in exchange for cash remuneration. He was also to say that in September 2023 he came to Russia and settled in the Moscow region, waiting for detailed instructions from SBU officers.
The Russian Investigative Committee said that last year Kuzin received Muscovite data “as a terrorist attack object” and began to collect the necessary information about him. “To this end, he lived in a rented apartment in the building where the general lived. From there, the accused monitored his movements and learned what his everyday life looks like” – we read in the Committee's communiqué.
According to Russian channels, Kuzin was detained at the Istanbul airport, where he went after leaving Moscow.
General called the “rising star”
The Reuters agency noted that Moskalik was killed a few hours before the president's envoy USA Donald Trump Steve Witkoff was to conduct talks with the Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Moscow about the war in Ukraine.
Russian war bloggers described Moskalik as a “rising star” of Russian forces. He participated in several high -level Russian delegations and met with Western officials who talked about a peace agreement in Ukraine, “Reuters said.
In the years 2015-2019 Moskalik participated in meetings in the so-called Norman format, where they talked about peaceful regulation of the armed conflict in Ukrainian Donbass.
In 2018, the general took part in talks with the then president Syria AL-ALDEM BASZAR.

The Russian independent portal is important, Istoria pointed out that the department in which Moskalik worked, is one of the main centers of planning Russian military operations in Ukraine.
Moskalik is the highest -ranking Russian military, killed at the rear, after the commander of the Russian army of radiochemical and biological protection of the general Igor Kiriłł, who died in December last year after detonating the explosive near the entrance to the building in which he lived – the portal reminded Istory.
General Kiriłłow died as a result of an explosion of a bomb hidden in a scooter.
Before the coup, the Security Service of Ukraine announced that Kiriłłow was a suspect in the mass use of forbidden chemical weapons against Ukraine's defense forces.
