The Rolling Stones will release a new album. On Monday, the band confirmed speculation about their upcoming album “Hackney Diamonds” on social media. On Wednesday, September 6, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood will take part in an event promoting the new material. The event will take place in London’s Hackney district. Its online broadcast is also planned.

The first reports about the publication of a new album by The Rolling Stones scheduled for September appeared in August. Then, the London weekly “Hackney Gazette” published a subversive advertisement for the glass company “Hackney Diamonds”, full of references to the group’s work. On Monday, the band confirmed fan speculation surrounding the announcement on the X platform (formerly Twitter).

“New album, new music, new era” – wrote the post announcing the release of “Hackney Diamonds”. At that time, an event with the participation of members of The Rolling Stones was also announced, which would take place on Wednesday, September 6 at 3:30 p.m. Central European summer time (currently in force in Poland – ed.).

The special event with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood will take place in London’s Hackney, the “heart of the new album”. Fans will also be able to follow them via online broadcast available on YouTube. An entry published on The Rolling Stones’ profile on the X platform shows that the event will be hosted by American comedian and TV host Jimmy Fallon. -Wednesday 6th September in Hackney? I’ll be there. See you in London – says the comedian in the skit attached to the post.

Although the content of “Hackney Diamonds” remains unknown, according to reports quoted by the BBC, the album may include, among others: Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder or Lady Gaga. Over the weekend, the band also revealed the secret by publishing on a specially created website dontgetangrywithme.com a fragment of one of his new songs.

This site was created with a perversity similar to that seen in advertisement in the Hackney Gazette in August. After opening it, fans saw an extremely slow loading bar. After a few minutes, they could hear a short snippet of the song, followed by a page error message. The musicians referred to the alleged technical problems on social media with the words: “Don’t get angry with me”, which is a reference to the lyrics of the song.

“Hackney Diamonds” will be the first album by The Rolling Stones in 18 years to contain original material. At the same time, the album will be the first since the death of Charlie Watts. However, this does not necessarily mean that the drummer will not perform on it. As Keith Richards announced two years ago in an interview with the Los Angeles Times, fans “haven’t heard the last word from Watts yet.”
