The Sejm adopted the act on limiting the right to asylum. It assumes the possibility of introducing a temporary, territorial limitation of accepting applications for international protection. According to the regulation, the limitation period will not be able to exceed 60 days.
386 deputies voted for adopting the law, 38 were against, no one abstained. Earlier, MPs rejected the Circle Together's request in the vote to reject the project in its entirety.

What the act assumes
The Act assumes that the restriction of the right to submit an application for international protection may be introduced by the Regulation of the Council of Ministers at the request of the Minister of the Interior and Administration. The head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration will have to inform the Sejm Administration and Interior Commission about the submission of an application limiting the right to asylum.
Its introduction should take into account “the need to prevent destabilization of the internal situation” in the country and aim to “limit the slightest possible limitation of the rights of foreigners intending to apply for international protection.”
According to the project, the restriction will be temporary, and the period of limitation will not be able to exceed 60 days at a time. The limitation period will be able to be extended for a fixed period, not longer than 60 days, after consent by the Sejm.
The regulation is also to specify the section of the border on which the restriction is used. General principles will be applied on the outer border, not covered by the provisions of the regulation.
It was also determined that Border Despite the restrictions, he will accept an application for international protection from minors without care, pregnant women, people who may require special treatment, in particular due to their age or health. The restriction will not apply to the person who in the opinion of the Border Guard “clearly indicate that it is threatened with the actual risk of suffering serious harm in the country from which she came directly” on the territory of Poland.
