The situation in the Kuźnica region
On Monday morning, the media circulated information from Polish services and ministries about a large group of migrants planning to cross the Belarusian border with Poland. Migrants are located in the vicinity of Kuźnica. The Ministry of National Defense informed in the afternoon that the Ministry of Interior and Administration services and soldiers had managed to stop the first mass attempt to cross the border. Currently, according to official information, migrants have set up a camp in the Kuźnica region. They are guarded by the Belarusian services.

When asked how the situation on the border near Kuźnica could develop, the Border Guard officer Michał Tokarczyk emphasized that the Border Guard assumed every scenario.
– We do not know what the Belarusian services will surprise us with. We must make it clear that nothing happens by itself without their permission and approval. Every situation is under the aegis of the Belarusian services. Foreigners were led by these services to the state border, they set up a camp – he said.
– We guard our border and we do not intend to cross it. We survived the first wave and we are waiting for what will happen in a few moments, what will happen at night. We are well prepared – emphasized the border guard.
When asked how the officers planned to act at night, he replied that they were reacting on an ongoing basis. – If additional support is needed, it is available there. However, I prefer not to reveal what our actions will look like at night – he reserved.
– We will definitely do our best job. We are professionals. The border is well protected 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year – declared MD Tokarczyk.
The situation at the border
Since the spring, the number of attempts to illegally cross the Belarusian border with Lithuania, Latvia and Poland by migrants from the Middle East, Africa and other regions has increased sharply. The EU and its member states believe that this is the result of the deliberate actions of Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s regime, which instrumentally uses migrants in response to sanctions.
Since the beginning of the year, the Border Guard has recorded – as it claims – over 30,000. attempts to illegally cross the Polish-Belarusian border. Recently, there have been attempts to forcibly enter the territory of Poland by foreigners grouped by the Belarusian services abroad, as well as provocation by these services.
From September 2, due to the migratory pressure in 183 localities in the province. Podlasie and Lubelskie, adjacent to the border with Belarus, a state of emergency is in force. A dam is to be built on the border with Belarus in the first half of 2022.
