The permanent introduction of the 14th pension de facto means a permanent quota indexation of pensions – said the president of the Polish Development Fund, Paweł Borys, on TVN24.
“Dziennik Gazeta Prawna” wrote on Monday that the government plans to introduce the 14th pension as a permanent annual benefit. “Everything indicates that in the coming days the government will submit to the Sejm a draft act on another additional annual cash benefit for pensioners” – we read in “DGP”.
On Monday, Paweł Borys, president of the Polish Development Fund, spoke about the 14th retirement in “Rozmowo Piaseckiego” on TVN24.
He admitted that he “does not know this project” of the government, but “always defended the 13th and 14th pensions”. He argued that “the introduction of the 14th pension as a permanent supplement de facto means a permanent quota indexation of pensions in Poland”. “If the government estimates that it can afford it, let’s wait for the details of that,” he added.
To the lecturer’s remark that the payment of an allowance instead of indexation could be perceived as a “political gift” for pensioners before this year’s parliamentary elections, he said: – this pension was also paid in the years when there were no elections. Let us remember that pension benefits in Poland are still at a fairly low level. I supported this kind of support for pensioners – said Borys.
