The State Forests want to create their own chain of shops – reports Thursday’s “Puls Biznesu”. The establishments will offer, among others, venison. Bistros and hotels would also operate under the banner of Dobre z Lasu.
The newspaper recalled that “the idea of creating a network of own shops with game and other forest gifts was the first – more than four years ago – by the then general director of State Forests (LP) Konrad Tomaszewski”.

“The plans were wide-ranging. The head of LP wanted to have a dozen such stores, and in addition to them also separate points of sale in shopping centers. The chain was to offer ‘venison preparations made on the basis of traditional technologies’,’ preserves of mushrooms and berries bearing the logo SF ‘, as well as, inter alia, honey from apiaries run in forests by foresters. Game would come from game breeding centers owned by the State Forests, and meat processing would be carried out by local small and medium-sized production plants, including those owned by Lasów “- indicated .

As it was written, “the network was supposed not only to promote the LP, but also to bring profits over time”. “In the first phase, it was planned to allocate about PLN 450,000 to its creation. After Andrzej Konieczny replaced Konrad Tomaszewski as the head of LP, shops ceased at all. However, when Józef Kubica became the general director of LP in the spring, the idea of a retail network revived “- assessed.
“We have been promoting healthy and ecological food from Polish forests for a long time. The store in the General Directorate building was a pilot project. Successful! That is why we are opening stores all over Poland” – declares the head of the State Forests.

“We want to have at least one ‘Dobre z Lasu’ store in each regional directorate of the State Forests. Soon – I think we will make it before this year’s Christmas – we will open stores in a few more cities” – declares Józef Kubica. “PB” announced that “Katowice, Krakow and Szczecin are at stake”. “Where the network will develop further depends on the tourist and commercial potential of a given region. Some regional directorates of the State Forests have already declared that they would like to have several establishments in their area, while others are not interested in the project yet” – we read in “BUT” .
The State Forests National Forest Holding is the largest organization in Europe managing public forests. They farm 7.6 million hectares of forests, which is over 80 percent. all forests in our country.
