Former Prime Minister Leszek Miller spoke on TVN24 on Monday about the situation on the border with Belarus. He said that “he cannot imagine young children caught in Poland and taken together with their mothers to a dark forest and left there for their fate”.
There is a migration crisis on the border with Belarus. It applies to the border strip state of emergency, which is associated with the prohibition of entry to this area, inter alia, journalists and activists from non-governmental organizations. The Border Guard detains more and more people trying to illegally enter the Polish side. The border guards admitted that the push back procedure was applied to the group from Michałów, including women and children, and that the migrants were taken to the border.
Miller: I can’t imagine little children being caught and driven into a dark forest
The former prime minister Leszek Miller spoke about the situation at the border on TVN24 on Monday. – The Polish eastern border must be tight and guarded, because it is also the border of the European Union. But it is not so, we find out every now and then that the refugees crossed the border, passed through Poland and ended up in Germany – he said.
He added that we do not know what the real situation is at the border. – The state of emergency was introduced so that journalists could not tell us the true state of affairs. Until recently, Frontex was completely ignored, he reminded.
Miller also said that he “can’t imagine a push back”. – I cannot imagine young children caught in Poland and taken with their mothers to a dark forest and left there to die. In terms of humanity, it simply does not fit in your head – he emphasized.
