Downpours were felt on Wednesday afternoon in Podhale. The village of Witów in the Kościelisko commune was partially flooded. The fire department has its hands full.
Wednesday is another stormy day in Poland. Storms are moving from the west to the east of the country. storms and heavy rainfall. They are in force warnings from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management. For the most endangered regions the alert was announced by the Government Security Center.
Flooding in Podhale
Firefighters are responding to downpours that swept through the Tatra district in the afternoon. Properties and roads in Witów in the Kościelisko commune were flooded. Mud has accumulated on the streets.
“Masses of water from the fields flow into storm drains, which are unable to drain this amount,” wrote “Tygodnik Podhalański” and published the recording.
Flooding also occurred in the neighbouring town of Sucha Hora on the Polish-Slovak border.
Tatra National Park has warned that many mountain trails are flooded and submerged after heavy rain. The water level in Biały Dunajec is rising rapidly and is approaching an alarm level.
