Literally everyone talked about this crime in the 1990s, and now it has come back to light thanks to… series Netflix's “Monsters”, which premiered on September 19. Erik and Lyle Menendez murdered their parents with exceptional cruelty. However, this story is not as simple as it may seem. Things were said to have happened behind the walls of the luxurious villa that shocked public opinion – brothers accused their father of molestation. Now new facts have come to light that could change the fate of the Menendezes serving life sentences.

Erik's confession may shed new light on the Menendez case. “I tried to avoid dad”

Foreign media write about the letter written by Erik years ago. Forbes reports that in a message sent to his cousin, the younger Menendez allegedly talked about his father's atrocities. “I tried to avoid dad. It's still happening, Andy, but now it's even worse for me… Every night I go to bed thinking maybe he won't come. I'm afraid. He's crazy. He warned me hundreds of times not to tell anyone about it, least of all to Lyle,” we read in the published excerpt. According to the magazine, in May 2023, the brothers' defense attorney filed a petition, presenting the letter as new evidence to prove that his clients' convictions should be quashed.

Erik's letter is not everything. There's something else

From the above-mentioned article in Forbes, we also learn that in 2023, a former member of the Puerto Rican boy band Menudo, Roy Rossello, made a statement regarding the Menendez's father. The man claims that as a teenager he visited the home of Menendez, who was then a high-level executive at RCA. Rossello said he drank a glass of wine and then felt like he had “no control” over his body. It was then that an unwanted closeness occurred. The musician claims that Jose took him to a room and sexually assaulted him. Rossello was supposed to be 14 years old at the time. SEE ALSO: A Netflix actor murdered his mother.
