On the night of July 12-13, there was fire Aksam's factory in Malec near Oświęcim (Małopolska Province). The fire completely consumed one of the halls, where the roof collapsed. The second hall was partially destroyed and has already been rebuilt. The plant management assured that it would not dismiss any employees (the company employs over 500 people), and the crew would receive full pay, although they would work less due to lower production capacities. Now the company can count on the support of a food giant, also from Małopolska.
Małopolska. Continuation of the story of the producer of “Paluszki Beskidzkie”. Help from a food giant
Krzysztof Pawiński, founder of Maspex, a company based in Wadowice, announced support for Aksam on Sunday, August 11, on platform X. “A few weeks ago a fire destroyed the Aksam 'Paluszki Beskidzkich' factory in a neighboring district. The management of this wonderful company declared that despite the tragedy it would not lay off its employees. As part of the neighborly help, in cooperation with owner Aksamu, we have offered temporary employment to several dozen people in our plants in Wadowice and Tychy. The first of them are starting work this week,” Pawiński said.
At the end of the post he added: “What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. This rule works. We know from each other”. Maspex is one of the largest companies in the food industry in Poland. Its offer includes brands such as Łowicz, Lubella, Tymbark and Kubuś, and its turnover for 2023 exceeded PLN 15 billion.
Małopolska. The plant of the producer of “Paluszków Beskidzkie” partially rebuilt after a fire
We reported on Thursdaythat on August 12, production would start in the largest of Aksam's halls, where the wall destroyed in the fire had already been rebuilt. The media from Małopolska indicated that the hall had been separated from the completely burned part of the plant. Before the July fire, all parts of the factory in Malec were connected.
– Fortunately, the firefighters managed to defend the third, largest hall and I take my hat off to them for that – said the owner of Aksam, Adam Klęczar, in an interview with “Gazeta Krakowska”. He assured that “although we are in a difficult situation, we can look to the future with hope”. – I want everyone to have a job. Employees will be employed on a two-week basis, then there will be a change of crew. This does not mean a reduction salaries. It will be complete. In our company, we have always put people first and this will not change – Klęczar emphasized.
