The strike at the Paroc plant in Trzemeszno in the Greater Poland Voivodeship has ended. “At 1.28 am we signed an agreement. Immediately afterwards we went to the halls to hand over the terms of the strike ending. We have what we have been fighting for for a year” – emphasized Grzegorz Ilnicki, representative of the national board of OPZZ Konfederacja Pracy.

The strike began on Wednesday, August 4 at approx. 21.00 and ended less than a week later.

We negotiated today for 15 hours” – wrote the representative of the national board of OPZZ Konfederacja Pracy (Confederation of Labor) on Facebook.

At the end of June, trade unionists associated with the Confederation of Labor belonging to the OPZZ decided on a warning strike. The employees demanded, inter alia, better pay conditions, as well as guarantees of employment contracts for an indefinite period. The OPZZ noted that the employees’ demands were still unfulfilled.

A strike referendum was held at the end of July. “Over 60 percent of the staff voted, of which the overwhelming majority – over 97 percent – voted for a general strike,” the OPZZ press office informed. As he added, the strike is to last until further notice.

The Paroc Group is an international producer of stone wool insulation. The plant in Trzemeszno is one of the largest employers in the region, employing a total of 780 people, indicated the Polish Alliance of Trade Unions (OPZZ).
