General Syrski in an interview with the Ukrainian portal said that the new Russian offensive in the Sumski and Kharkovas, in the north and east of Ukraine, “in fact has already begun.” On Tuesday, late in the evening, Russian drones attacked the Ukrainian cities of Dnieper and Kharkiv, causing fires and hurting at least nine people – regional officials reported.

– They were actively used in the fighting in the Kurski region, they were the basis of offensive groups. They suffered significant losses because they undertook offensive actions according to the old Soviet tactics. Now we see improvement in their training, weapons and equipment. They have already actually switched to the Russian army standards – explained Syrski.

The Ukrainian general also talked about the support of Russia by Belarus. Answering the question whether the extensive “Zapad-2025” exercises, organized in September 2025 by Russia and Belarus, can also be part of the preparation for the new offensive against Ukraine from Belarus, Syrski noticed that “all exercises have their own goal.”

– One of these goals is the hidden creation of offensive army groupings. This means that visible exercises are the most acceptable way of displacement, shifting forces, their concentration in a specific direction and the creation of a group of troops. In fact, it began in 2022 – said Syrski, recalling the beginning of a full -size Russian invasion.

Syrski also presented the last successes of the Ukrainian army on the front. He reminded that Ukraine managed to destroy several places of storage and accumulation of Shahed drones, which also influenced the number of unmanned aerial vehicles recently used by the Russians. – We carried out a number of successful attacks on the airports, and the enemy was forced to dislocate and move his aviation deep into Russia. He also noted that the Russian Navy in the Black Sea is practically not able to leave the base in Noworosyjsk. “Sometimes they break through, but it is a test for them because they know that they are constantly threatened with our attacks,” he added.

Syrski informed that the Ukrainian army has already reached the ability to carry out attacks using drones with a range of 1700 km. – We can say that we have conducted a series of very successful attacks as part of the Deepstrike operation. In turn, Zelanski on Monday confirmed that Ukraine conducts surgery in the Russian Belgorodzi region, which borders with Ukraine.
