The US and China exchange blows. Beijing bans the export of minerals

China attacks the US: Beijing introduced export ban to the United States dual-use items that may be used in the arms industry. This includes: components needed for the production of semiconductors. The export ban in force since Tuesday applies to products related to minerals such as: gallium, germanium, antimony and graphite.

Antimony, in turn, is used for production of missiles and other types of weaponswhile graphite is the largest component by volume electric vehicle batteries. China is responsible for 94 percent. world production of gallium and 83 percent germanium.
