The US is suspending military assistance for Ukraine. Michał Szczerba and Piotr Kaleta comment

On Monday, a representative of the White House told American media that The United States suspend military assistance for Ukraine. “President (USA Donald Trump – ed.) Clearly pointed out that his priority is peace. We expect our partners to be involved in the implementation of this goal. We suspend and review our help to make sure that it actually contributes to finding the solution” – said the official, asking for anonymity. The decision was made after the President's Friday meeting Ukraine Wołodymyr Zelanski with the president USA in Washington. The meeting ended with a quarrel.

Michał Szczerba, MEP of the Civic Coalition, and Piotr Kaleta, MP of Law and Justice, discussed this matter in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24.

– This matter absolutely worries me. Also because this decision was made without informing allies from NATO and from surprise. This is not a format of discussing, decisions we have been accustomed to now – said MEP Szczerba.

– We are in an absolutely crisis. You should return to talks between the President of Ukraine and President of the United States. President Zelanski takes some steps in this direction. However, I would like President Trump to emphasize allied obligations during today's speech before Congress. For us, this is the most important thing that Article 5 (North Atlantic Pact – ed.) Is undisputed by anyone, especially by the largest member (alliance – ed.), United States – said Szczerba.

– Secondly, for us the most important thing is that 10,000 American soldiers in Poland are still present, because this is our guarantee of security – noted the MEP of the Civic Coalition.

Szczerba estimated that “in fact what we are observing at the moment was leaving Ukraine, it is leaving the ally.” – And this is the wasted of the last three years of our activity – he added.

MP Piotr Kaleta, talking about suspending US military assistance for Ukraine, said that the word “suspension” is “key” in the discussion on this decision. “Now it's just time for very fast negotiations and a very fast contract,” he continued.

Referring to the Friday quarrel in the White House between Zelanski and Trump, he stated that Wołodymyr Zelanski “He behaved scandalously.” – He behaved indecently and it is, it seems to me, counterrection. He tries to place people who help him the most, the power that helps him the most. Well, something is wrong here – he continued.

– After all, these people, these politicians were to sign a contract that was theoretically developed, negotiated. It was supposed to be a dot above and – he added.

Szczerba also commented on Tuesday's statement of the candidate PIS for president Karol Nawrocki about “Anti -American rebellion in the European Union”. He said that “Karol Nawrocki's narrative has been very disturbing for many weeks.” – First of all, he is a politician who said that there is no place for Ukraine in the European Union and NATO. As for the NATO issue, this is absolutely Russian – he added.

The MEP also said that one of the spaces in which war is held is also the narrative. – It is very easily extreme and radical circles subjected to some pressure from Putin's propaganda, propaganda of Lavrov, Piesków (Kremlin spokesman – ed.). I have the impression that this is the handling of balls – he continued.

– This is a trial time, this is a time of decency. If someone thinks that on this anti-Ukrainian narrative, on this note won together with Putin, he can get 1-2 percent or jump over the Mentzen (candidate Confederation For president – ed.), That is shameful – he added.
