The Marriott brand is no longer owned by a five-star hotel operating in the center of Warsaw. The American chain has withdrawn from running it, “Rzeczpospolita” reports on Wednesday. The unofficial reason for the separation is a dispute over money.
“We confirm that the Warsaw Marriott Hotel is no longer part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio,” Katarzyna Gospodarek, the company's spokeswoman for Eastern Europe, said in a statement sent to “Rzeczpospolita”.
Financial disputes in the background
However, she did not disclose the reason for Marriott International's separation from LIM Center.
“The industry portal e-hotelarz.pl reminds us, however, that there were disputes between the partners, including explanatory proceedings before the International Court of Arbitration in London. This concerns settlements from the period of the pandemic,” we read.
Hotel Marriott in Warsaw
“The five-star Warsaw Marriott Hotel was built in 1989 and has 523 rooms. Many of the most distinguished guests visiting Poland have stayed there – politicians, businessmen and show business stars, including several presidents of the United States,” the daily recalls.
We sent questions to representatives of the hotel in Warsaw. At the time of publication, we had not received a response.
