British scientists decided to investigate what types of microplastics float in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. It turned out that a large part of it are microscopic fragments of paint, most likely torn from boats and yachts. To make matters worse, chemical analyzes of the samples showed that many of them contain harmful elements – both for the environment and for animals.
