The Weeknd, one of the contemporary pop stars, will give a concert on August 9 at the PGE Narodowy in Warsaw. Live Nation started selling tickets and surprised with the offer. Many people expected high prices, but not necessarily that the organizer would want over PLN 200 for seats behind the stage described as “no view, only sound”.

The Weeknd is the artistic pseudonym of Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, who will come to Poland with a concert scheduled for August 9 at the PGE National Stadium. Winner of many awards, including four Grammys, born in Canada the son of Ethiopian immigrants started by publishing materials on YouTube (in 2009) and is now one of the most popular performers. Suffice it to say that in 2020 Tesfaye was listed by Time as one of the most influential people in the world. Many fans were waiting for his concert in Poland, but when it came to buying tickets, some were surprised by the offer of the organizer – Live Nation. It’s not even about the prices – you have to pay over PLN 1,200 for a ticket in front of the stage, and over PLN 1,600 for the best seats in the sectors. Internet users pointed out that Live Nation sells tickets in the “no view, only sound” option. The price ranges from PLN 221 to PLN 251 (a ticket for collectors). “I refuse to comment because I ran out of words,” wrote music blogger Karol Ludwikowski on Twitter.

We checked and indeed. On the Live Nation website you can buy tickets for the seats to the left and right of the stage. In six sectors – G15, G6, D8, D9, D3 and D2.

According to Internet users, earlier it was also possible to buy tickets directly behind the stage, e.g. G10 or G11.
