The West assures that support for Ukraine will not cease

By attacking grain and food warehouses, the Russians want to starve Ukraine, and by destroying power plants and power lines, literally freeze it. President Volodymyr Zelensky asked for help to survive the winter on Wednesday in Brussels. He heard assurances of continued support. But interestingly, Minister Mariusz Błaszczak was not present at the meeting of the heads of defense ministries of NATO countries.

On some sections of the front, Ukrainian soldiers found themselves in a very difficult situation. They are fighting fiercely for every meter of land, because the Russian army has launched a local offensive in the Avdiivka area in the Donetsk Oblast. Putin’s troops managed to advance two kilometers.

That is why President Volodymyr Zelensky reminded at the meeting of NATO defense ministers in Brussels that Ukraine must not be forgotten and the supplies of weapons and ammunition must not be interrupted. – Terrorists like Putin and Hamas seek to destroy free and democratic nations. Terrorists won’t change, they just have to lose. And that means we have to win. It takes patience, but it also requires constant and ongoing support. We need help every day to survive the winter and then drive Russia off Ukrainian soil, Zelensky emphasized.

Western assurances

The president heard the declarations of help in Brussels. The world does not forget about Ukraine. – President Putin is once again preparing to use winter as a weapon of war, which means attacking the energy system and gas infrastructure. We must prevent this, said Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General. – We will support Ukraine as long as necessary, emphasized Lloyd Austin, US Secretary of Defense.

The problem is that the American provisional budget passed last week does not include any funds for Kiev.

Therefore, President Joe Biden’s administration is to consider linking aid to Ukraine with support for Israel to ensure that the next aid package for Kiev will be adopted.

For months, the group of Republican congressmen reluctant to provide further aid for Ukraine worth billions of dollars has been growing. In July there were 70 of them, and in September there were 93. Concerns are growing louder that in the face of the attack on Israel, this group may grow. Some American media report that this is why Congress is working on creating a single bill guaranteeing aid to both Israel and Ukraine. The White House insists that the United States is a large and strong enough country to support both warring states.

Experts also emphasize that both countries use different types of weapons and air defense, so they do not compete with each other for the same type of military assistance.
