Fortunately, the failed approach to landing of one of the planes at Fukuoka Airport in Japan ended in a scare. On Thursday, Typhoon Shanshan hit the region. The footage shows the Jeju Air pilot losing the battle with the strong winds.
A dangerous incident occurred on Thursday at Fukuoka Airport on the Japanese island of Kusiu. It was in this region that Typhoon Shanshan hit, bringing heavy rain and wind gusts of over 200 kilometers per hour.
A video shared online shows a failed landing approach for a Jeju Air plane. The huge plane began to rock sideways in strong winds. After a moment, the pilot aborted the approach. According to the Flightradar app, the plane landed safely on the second attempt.
One of the strongest typhoons
Typhoon Shanshan hit southwestern Japan on Thursday, contributing to the deaths of at least three people. As a result of extreme weather conditions on Kusiu Island, more than 600 domestic flights were canceled. Authorities also decided to evacuate millions of residents of several prefectures.
Experts emphasize that Shanshan may be the strongest typhoon ever to hit these regions of Japan. The element is moving at a speed of 15 km/h and is heading north.
