Another Dalai Lama will be born in the free world, except for China – the Dalai Lama XIV announced in his latest book. Earlier he suggested that he might not have a successor. At the same time, China usurifies the right to indicate a new Dalai Lama, who accuse the 89-year-old of separatist activities.

The Dalai Lama XIV referred to the issue of its successor in the latest book. Entitled “Voice for the Voiceless” (pl. – Voice for the deprived of the voice), the position is not yet available in Poland, but the world premiere was on Tuesday. Earlier access to its content was obtained by the Reuters agency, which cited selected fragments of the publication.

“As the goal of reincarnation is to continue the work of its predecessor, the new Dalai Lama will be born in the free world, that the traditional Mission of the Dalai Lama – i.e. being a voice of universal compassion, the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism and the symbol of Tibet, embodimenting the aspirations of the Tibetan nation – was continued” – he said in the book of Dalai Lama XIV. The indication of the “free world” is understood so that this reincarnation will not take place in China nor in Tibet controlled by China.

Successor of the Dalai Lama XIV

The XIV Dalai Lama had already referred to the issue of its successor several times. About the fact that his successor will not be born in China, to which Tibet belongs today, the Dalai Lama XIV mentioned in the past, and as a probable place of birth of his successor then pointed to Indiain which the Tibetan government operates in exile. Today, the 89-year-old spiritual leader of the Tibetans later suggested that he would not have any successor, and the line of spiritual leaders would end with him. In the book “Voice for the Voiceless”, however, he clearly stated that Tibetans from around the world want to continue the Dalai Lama institution.

According to the Tibetan tradition, after the death of the Dalai Lama, his soul reincarnates and returns in the child's body. In the past, the Dalai Lamns have repeatedly predicted in their lifetime, where their successor would be born. According to this belief, subsequent Dalai Lamns are only another incarnation of the same person. In the Dalai Lama of the 14th spiritual leader, the commission appointed for this purpose recognized when he was 2 years old.

At the age of 23, along with thousands of other Tibetans, he escaped to India after a failed uprising against Chinese communists who took Tibet in 1950. Since then, the XIV Dalai Lama has been in dispute with Beijing. On Tuesday, a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the 89-year-old as “political exile”, who “under the guise of religion is involved in anti-Chinese separatist activity” and “has no rights to represent the Tibetan nation”.

Last month, the Chinese government also expressed the hope that the Dalai Lama “would return to the right path” and recognize Tibet I Taiwan for the inalienable parts of China. This, however, consistently in favor of the fight for the freedom of the Tibetan nation. The Chinese authorities also announce that they will indicate who will be the next Dalai Lama. The Dalai Lama XIV emphasized that this choice will not be respected by the Tibetans, and he would share the details about its successor to the 90th birthday. These fall out in July.
