The more we know about irregularities in the Justice Fund, the less Sovereign Poland politicians admit that they had anything to do with it. First of all, Sebastian Kaleta, former deputy minister of justice, and Jan Kanthak, former spokesman for the Ministry of Justice. This does not prevent them from defending the controversial project of the Profeto Foundation, which received PLN 66 million from the Justice Fund.

At the press conference of Sovereign Poland about the Justice Fund, the former spokesman of the ministry and the former deputy minister clearly denied that they had anything to do with the Justice Fund.

– I did not supervise the departments servicing the Justice Fund – said Sebastian Kaleta, former deputy minister of justice from Sovereign Poland. – What, do you think that the spokesman is responsible for supervising departments in the ministry? I treat your question as an attempt at some sort of provocation, replied Jan Kanthak, former spokesman for the Ministry of Justice.

“We were actually dealing with a classic set-up”

It wasn't a provocation, but a question. If they did not supervise the Fund, why was there such unwavering certainty that everything was in order regarding, for example, the Profeto Foundation and the facility under construction? – This is real work that is supposed to help injured people – said Kaleta. – The only place like this in Poland – added Kanthak.

The press conference took place in front of the center at Dobrodzieja Street in Warsaw, which is a project of the Profeto Foundation. The Justice Fund paid over PLN 66 million for the construction of this center.

– In fact, we were dealing with a classic setup, a classic competition for a specific organization – commented Michał Szczerba, MP from the Civic Platform. Ministry officials and the priest running the foundation were charged. Three people were taken into custody. According to the politicians of Sovereign Poland, this is a scandal, although they claim that they had nothing to do with the Justice Fund.
