The PiS election campaign in the 2023 Sejm and Senate elections was financed by a foundation of a State Treasury company that was subordinate to the Minister of State Assets – Michał Szczerba, MEP of the Civic Platform, said in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24. He said that the KGHM Foundation made a donation to the company that was involved in the production of election gadgets. – There are confirmations of transfers for everything, there is correspondence for everything – assured Szczerba.
Michał Szczerba, MEP of the Civic Platform, first said on TVP Info that he had invoices for election gadgets worth PLN 1.2 million, which were in fact financed by companies performing orders for State Treasury companies. On Tuesday, he was a guest on “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24, where he spoke more broadly about the financing of the election campaign PiS.
Szczerba: PiS campaign was financed by a State Treasury company foundation
– On September 12, the KGHM Foundation decided to make a donation to the Berm company for a project (…) concerning workshops devoted to the subject of pedophilia (fighting pedophilia – ed.). The donation agreement was signed, it was implemented, and the agreement was signed by Kamil Kowaleczko, the right-hand man Jacek Sasina long-time employee of the Ministry of State Assets, his collaborator from the Wołomin period. And after this donation, orders appeared, which were carried out by the Berm company for Jacek Sasin, but also for other PiS candidates – said the MEP. He indicated that these were orders for gadgets such as T-shirts, flags, banners and pins.
– But what is very interesting – among all these materials, for which there are invoices for the amount of 238 thousand, there also appeared an astonishing candidate, her calendars. This is Elizabeth Witekthe second person in the state (she was then the Speaker of the Sejm – ed.) – he continued.
– There are confirmations of transfers for everything, there is correspondence for everything between the Berm company, between Jacek Sasin's staff. I presented some of these documents to the State Electoral Commission yesterday – he said.

Sasin: PO MEP has outdone himself
On Monday, when Szczerba spoke for the first time about the issue of financing the PiS campaign, Jacek Sasin commented on the matter.
He called on Szczerba to stop violating his personal rights and harming his good name. “I cannot tolerate such scandalous and despicable actions in public life as he presented in a television interview in the illegally taken over public media,” emphasized Jacek Sasin, convincing that the goal of the “total government” is to destroy the “democratic opposition,” and the “first step” is to be “such pressure on the National Electoral Commission to take away the electoral subsidy from PiS.”
“Today, the PO MEP outdid himself. He threw a bunch of slander and dirty slander at me, but with his usual finesse, he mixed up everything he could. Names, dates, events. He spoke of 'false invoices', while accusing them of not having existed. The culmination of this complete disgrace was the display of a photo with an alleged order, on which there is a black and white request for a project (which was ultimately not implemented). However, from the chaos of accusations, an obvious picture emerges – there was no abuse, unless perhaps the abuse of the MP's imagination,” we read in Sasin's post.
